What are the advantages of seasonal food for your weaning baby.

At Bellota Baby we are big advocates of sustainability. We believe in preserving & nurturing the planet as well as our babies. One of the simplest ways we have found in doing this is by using seasonal produce in our cooking wherever possible.

When you buy fruit and vegetables in season you are offering them to the tiny people when they are at their best.

Our Planet
The shorter the distance a product travels, the less it pollutes the oceans or air it travels across. Also the more a fruit or vegetable ripens in the sun, outdoors or in a greenhouse, the less fossil or nuclear fuel it uses.

If we follow the seasons, the reds, oranges, greens or purples follow on from each naturally. Every vegetable has different and complementary properties. For example, Strawberries taste great in the summer months, but eating them in February is not what nature intended.
